Lessons and Friendships

Throughout my life I have not traveled many destinations but I have made amazing memories and made life long friendships on these travels.

One of the most memorable trips I have ever taken was to see the Myan ruins in Tulum, Mexico. The year I traveled there was the year the Mayan calendar ran out and thus the year that the world was supposed to come to an end, year 2012.

Something I will never forget is the serenity of the water. Even though we were surrounded by many tourists the green paired with the clear water was a pairing so beautiful I will never forget.

Although pictures do not last forever, memories do and I am forever gratful for being asked on this trip and hope to return soon in the future. As previously mentioned I spent a year in Riverside, California. I did not mention however that I was going to school at La Sierra University playing for the Eagles. I immediately moved out to Riverside in June of 2013, where I quickly moved in with a few of my teammates. These girls I laughed with, cried with, and gave my all for on the court and on the track, and they are beautiful people that I am glad I met.

Lessons

Moving to California forced me to grow up fast but it also allowed me to learn truly what makes me happy and what I am capable of on my own. While it was hard to not see family for six months I had an amazing time and learned valuable life lessons and the do's and dont's of living on your own. I am thankful that I had tweleve teammates to show me the ropes.

Unfortunately my scholarship fell through and I had to return home to good ole' Minnesnowta. This was a blessing in diguise because I now am studying at one of the best schools in the country in a field of study that is so prosporous here in the cities. The friendships that I did create in California have become a few of my best friendships. One of the girls that I played with I still speak with regularily and visit every spring break!
