Zorbaz is the most popular Perham restaurant, however, it is not located directly on Big Pine Lake, rather it is located on Little Pine Lake. The water level is to low in the connecting canal to travel by boat, but it is only a short ten minute drive through town. There are eleven Minnesota locations, the pizza is known throughout the state, and for good reason!
The first Zorbaz on the Lake was created in 1969 and the restaurant grew from there. The atmosphere is meant to be fun–loving, carefree and happy, all feelings a Minnesota summer creates in itself. The are considered both a pizza and Mexican restaurant, but most popular is by far their pizza.
At the Little Pine Lake location, most of the seating is outdoors so customers can have a beautiful view of the lake while eating. There is a shoreline and dock for you to venture out on, as well as a live band on Friday nights. If raining, there is plenty of seating inside as well; the decor is very unique with many pictures of past customers and old fishing equipment hanging on the walls. Some rooms even hold old fishing boats as the center of attention! No matter who you're at the cabin with this is a very fun, and yummy, place to eat and hang out.
Brew Ales and Eats
Opening in 2011, the Brew is a newer restaurant to the town of Perham; when built, it brought new flavors and spunk to Main Street. When forming the Brew, the goal was to bring “big city”, made–from–scratch cuisine, and craft beers, to small towns. This was greatly accomplished and the reason why this restaurant gained popularity so quickly! The Brew brings great food, a fun atmosphere and craft beer all to one location.
The Brew’s cooking is inspired by the Upper Midwest, locally sourced and made from scratch each day. It is “bar food” with a twist; some of the wings offer unique flavors such as peanut butter and jelly! Burgers and fries, or chips, is another favorite from this restaurant, there are both traditional and unique burger options. Many are topped with their House Aioli sauce, yum!
However, choices are not limited to these; other options include wraps, salads, and endless appetizers. This is a great rustic, family atmosphere, located right on Main Street. All ages and groups have fun and are happily full when leaving.
The Lakes Café is known for their breakfast, but serves delicious meals throughout the day. The staff are great and the wait is short! This is one of Perham’s older and more established restaurants with local residents keeping the place busy, but visitors are more than welcome.
The Lakes provides a great dining experience with kid–friendly specials. Sometimes there are also community–driven occasions where meals are served by veterans or all profits are donated to a specific cause.
The food here is known to be very hearty and taste home–made. For breakfast, favorites include pancakes (they are the size of a full plate!), omelets, eggs benedict and biscuits and gravy. For lunch and dinner, favorites include roast beef, or other hot sandwiches, as well as burgers and fries. To be honest, most order breakfast food for any meal, especially the pancakes!
These are not the only restaurants in Perham, just a few of the most popular! A full list of Perham restaurants can be found on the Perham website.
